Halle Berry, the iconic actress who brought Storm to life in the early 2000s X-Men films, has shut the door on rumors of her appearing in Avengers: Doomsday. But here's where it gets intriguing: while she's firmly stated, “Storm’s not there,” she hasn’t ruled out a return in the future—specifically, for Avengers: Secret Wars. Could this be a strategic tease, or is Berry genuinely leaving Storm behind?
Marvel fans have been buzzing with excitement, hoping to see Berry’s Storm reunite with other classic characters in Doomsday. However, during the premiere of her new film Crime 101, Berry doubled down on her absence. “You all think I’m being coy and I’m being silly, but I’m not there,” she told Variety, leaving little room for speculation—at least for this installment.
But this isn’t the first time Berry has addressed the topic. In a recent chat with ScreenRant, she opened up about her deep connection to Storm, calling her “a very special character” and reflecting on the impact of the X-Men films. “They have so much to say that I thought has been really important, especially for my children as they’ve grown,” she shared. And while she expressed sadness about missing Doomsday, she dropped a tantalizing hint: “There are other rounds. And I would do that in a heartbeat.”
Is Berry playing it close to the vest, or is her absence from Doomsday truly final? Given her consistent statements, it seems unlikely she’ll appear in this film. But the possibility of her return in Secret Wars has fans holding onto hope. After all, in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, anything can happen.
And this is the part most people miss: Berry first dashed hopes of her Doomsday appearance back in April 2025, when she bluntly told Black Girl Nerds, “Keep waiting. Not gonna be there.” With the film set to hit theaters on December 18, it’s time to reset expectations—unless Marvel has a surprise up its sleeve.
